Cannot believe it’s a year since our last pilgrimage to the show, I must say there were less stands than last year which was a bit disappointing, but that said we did pick up some useful ideas for our future travels. It seems that all shows which were big in the past are getting smaller and smaller. take the ideal home exhibition for example which used to be a huge event but is now a shadow of ts former self
Our accommodation for the trip like always was the trusted Travelodge chain, we stayed in the Snaresbrook Wanstead lodge which was very good, and the location was perfect just a few minutes from the underground station to the centre of London, and as we booked in advance we got a very good rate
The next day we decided to go into London again and visit Harrods in Knightsbridge, now its been a number of years since I was last in Harrods and that was just a flying visit so this time we thought we would have a real look around, well that look around turned into a five hour visit it was just amazing to have a look at all the ware’s for sale you can buy absolutely anything with some amazing prices as well for example just plain good old English fish & chips in the fancy food hall was £29 far pricier than Rick Steins restaurant in Padstow Cornwall. We came across a cup & saucer which was very nice and I would have liked until we saw the price a snip at £2020 for a set of four just mind blowing, but there was a bargain to be had at a nearby Kitchen design shop, a really nice range cooker reduced from £74000 to a mere £48000 so just goes to show what bargains can be had if you shop around.
